Dogs 4 Rescue
About the Project
Dogs 4 Rescue are a pioneering, kennel-free rescue based in South Manchester. The dogs really do come first at D4R and I wanted to encapture that in their rebrand. When having a chat with the team, we spoke about how Kennel-Free really does mean Kennel-Free, and how the dogs literally have free reign. Its's great for the dogs, but it does leave a few muddy prints on the tables. This is where the inspiration came from.
By laying down sheets of paper, four of the sanctuary dogs were able to leave prints, and essentially create the logo themselves. resulting in a truly meaningful and unique mark that resonates with the rescue and its supporters, whilst also representing their authentic approach to Dog Rescues.
The concept runs through the entire identity, with paw marks printed across t shirts and merch to emphasise the kennel free aspect. What was previously a very broad colour palette has been refined to a vibrant orange, to emphasise their energy and pioneering spirit; and a deep purple for care, compassion and community.
Following on from the visual identity, I created an awareness campaign highlighting how dogs are the real rescuers, sharing real life stories of how they've made a positive impact.
A series of bespoke pet portraits was also created to be used across a range of the Rescues Merch.
